We had a very successful year at the two principle RHS shows this year achieving Gold Medals at both Chelsea and Hampton Court.
We worked closely with the Mexican Embassy, most especially at Chelsea, in support of their promotional year of co-operation between Mexico and the UK (MXUK 2015) to create a theme based around dahlias country of origin Mexico
The Chelsea display was 18 x 10 metres, one of the largest in the Grand pavilion. We took as our theme Edward James’ surrealist garden at Las Pozas in Mexico with its towering pillars and archways and then combined native Mexican plants together with other exotic vegetation plants as a backdrop for over 40 varieties of dahlia, some 500 plants.
Hampton Court was a smaller display but as equally eye-catching, with a similar number of varieties, in more of an Homage to the Edward James garden, but this time packed full of colour.
Between these two shows we also found time to take a version of the display shown at Chelsea to the ‘Garden Scotland’ event in Edinburgh where we were delighted to achieve a Gold Medal for the Collection.
Plans for Chelsea 2016 are already on the drawing board and we will hopefully be able to give more detail about that in our autumn newsletter.
